Helios can hear sounds from every 1m section along a fibre. This high resolution gives the system both spatial and temporal detection function. Even something as delicate as footsteps can be detected moving along the surface from a fibre buried below the ground. Someone walking along the fibre produces signals that can be tracked as the subject moves along the fibre giving the system a tracking facility.
